Dalia Denha-Atisha, president of The Event Planner, Inc.
has been successful in the event planning industry for over ten years.

Dalia gained her experience and knowledge in the field during her college years developing public relations for the Chaldean Detroit Times News and assisting in planning and organizing events for the West Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce.

Her education with a Bachelor in Business Administration and Marketing allows her to think with a realistic business perspective and her education in Interior Design helps her apply the concept of color, proportion, function and balance artistically.
The combination of experience and education in business and design are mediums that have given Dalia a competitive edge in the event planning industry.

Today, Dalia Denha-Atisha and her team have planned, coordinated, consulted, designed and educated hundreds of events priding a reputation on great customer service. The team knows the importance of educating and communicating with clients and vendors and believes that impeccable service makes for a successful company.

In the summer of 1985, my wife and I were married on the front lawn of the Cromaine Lodge overlooking Lake Walden. I remember our wedding as if it was yesterday and although time passes quickly, the memories will last forever. Since then, we have worked hard to assure that each event is as special as ours was to us.

Waldenwoods Resort and Banquet Center is one of Michigan’s most unique wedding venues, nestled among 400 acres of beautiful rolling countryside and overlooking the scenic shores of a private, spring-fed lake. With a fairy tale setting complete with a 200 foot aisle way and a front porch that is reminiscent of "The Old South", you can step back into time and experience the wedding of your dreams.

When you select Waldenwoods for your special day, you and your guests will experience a blending of the historical feel of a time when life was slow and simple and the present, where quality, convenience and service are paramount. You’ll have no need to worry about hearing the party next door as you will receive exclusive rights to our lodge that has over 10,000 square feet of splendor and can accommodate up to 250 guests.

Whatever the season, our staff is committed to provide you with the atmosphere and service that you will remember for a lifetime. We can customize your reception to meet your needs and our goal is to make your first few hours’ together fun, exciting and memorable in a romantic setting. Our first class chef and his staff will assure that the appetizers and main course will be delectable and served with the utmost of elegance.

After the reception, your guests may choose to extend their stay overnight in one of our charming lodges. Each accommodation has a large gathering room with a fireplace for winding down and a view of the lake. This would give them the opportunity to relax and enjoy the many features available at our resort including swimming, fishing, sailing and tennis. They may even decide to hit a round of golf at The Majestic, a 27-hole championship course designed by Jerry Matthews that parallels some of the most exclusive courses in Northern Michigan.

Friend of the Bride

At Friend of the Bride, a wedding consultant is defined as a professional who consults and discusses the particulars of the wedding day with the bridal couple, and also provides task-oriented services, but does not usually plan the event (although I can). I believe the couple should take full enjoyment in planning for this extremely important event in their lives. Yet, there is no denying that it takes many hours and causes much stress!

So, if I am not going to plan your event, why would you need me? Depending on your particular needs, I can guide and assist you in order to help avoid those big and little mistakes that can spoil the day. Or I can be a behind-the-scenes assistant to help make the wedding day flow smoothly. Perhaps I am overseeing the set-up of the ceremony or reception venue while you tend to getting dressed! Definitely your stress level will be reduced so you can actually relax and enjoy your special day.

You are going to spend nearly 300 hours planning this wedding and reception. It would be great if the hours could be divided evenly week by week, but they won’t be, and you’ll be overwhelmed. And that’s why Friend of the Bride can be of help: to guide, to assist, to be there for you when you need a little help… from a friend.

Beverly Edwards began serving as a wedding ceremony coordinator when she was only 15 years old. Initially, she was hired as a pipe-organist or pianist for weddings, which she still does even today. Brides were always asking her for suggestions to make their ceremony more unique or worry-free. As the years went by, she was recruited to plan large dinner events for schools, churches, community / political organizations, and private functions, which added to the practical advice she could provide to bridal couples regarding receptions. Eventually, Beverly decided to focus solely on wedding day events, and to continue serving her clients as a consultant rather than a planner.
